PRIME MINISTER’S EMPLOYMENT GENERATION PROGRAMME (PMEGP)
The pmegp, Government of India has recognized the introduction of a new scheme which is linked subsidy programme known as Prime Ministers Employment Generation Program by combining the two schemes those are in operation till 21.03.2008 that is Prime Ministers Rojgar Yojana and Rural Employment Generation Programme for generation of employment opportunities by the establishment of small enterprises in rural and urban areas. PMEGP is a central sector scheme organized by the Ministry of Micro, small and medium enterprises. The pmegp scheme is developed by Khadi and Village Industries Commission at the national level, and statutory administration by the administrative control of the MSME ministry as the single nodal agency. By the state KVIC Directorates, the pmegp scheme was implemented at the state level, State Khadi and Village Industries Boards and banks and District Industries Centres.
The Government subsidy by the pmegp scheme will be given by KVIC from the recognized banks for eventual distribution to the beneficiaries/entrepreneurs in their bank accounts. The developing companies, like KVIC, KVIBs, and DICs will combine reputed Non-Government Organization/ and autonomous institutions/Self Help Groups/National Small Industries Corporation/Udyami Mitras select under Rajiv Gandhi Udyami Mitra Yojana. To improve this scheme Panchayati Raj institutions and other related bodies, mainly in the area of recognition of beneficiaries, of area specific viable pmegp projects, and offering training in entrepreneurship development. To improve the wage earning capacity of artisans and desire to increase the growth rate of rural and urban employment for prime minister employment generation program application form.
Objective of PMEGP
To develop continuous and sustainable employment opportunities in Rural and Urban areas of the country. To have the continuous and good employment to a large section of traditional and possible artisans, rural and urban unemployed youth in the country by setting up of small enterprises. To have the participation of financial institutions for higher credit of small sector for the prime minister employment generation program.
Eligibility of pmegp online
Candidates should have an age of 18 years.
Should pass VIII Std. necessary for pmegp project above Rs.10,000 in manufacturing and for Service sector of Rs.5.00 lakhs.
Self Help Groups and Charitable Trusts are there.
Institutions were registered by societies under the act 1860.
Production was based on the Co-operative societies.
Per capita investment should not cross Rs.1.00 lakh and Rs.1.50 lakhs in Hilly areas.
For general category can obtain money subsidy of 25% of the project cost in areas rural and in urban of 15%. For candidates who belong to special categories like scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/ and women with a subsidy of 35% in areas rural and 25% urban.
Main Features of the pmegp scheme
The scheme is developed by KVIC and State/UT Khadi & V.I Boards in rural areas and in urban by the district industries centers in urban and rural areas in the ratio of 30:30:40.
For pmegp project, there is no income ceiling.
It is available for assistance by this scheme for new units to be founded for pmegp.
Any govt will provide existing units. pmegp Subsidy from state and central govt. Schemes are not eligible.
The industry with Coir Based projects are not included and which is listed in the negative.
Maximum project cost will be Rs.25,00 lakhs by the manufacturing sector and for service sector of Rs.10.00 lakhs.
