Scheduled Tribe loans in Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes Development Corporation have established in the year 1986 under the state government of Jammu & Kashmir which is also an owned department which functions under the Ministry of Social Welfare. The corporation of Jammu and Kashmir is maintained by the directors of the corporation of both state and central government. Represented for the socio-economic development of various targeted groups like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, National Minorities, Safai Karamcharis / Scavengers, Handicapped and Manual Scavengers communities. To provide a better life for the targeted groups in Jammu and Kashmir, by providing various schemes for the socio-economic development.

Jammu and Kashmir ST Loan Schemes:

The Jammu & Kashmir for ST development organization when compared with another state of similar sectors, the Jammu & Kashmir government subsidy schemes got a wide range. The Jammu and Kashmir government loans and schemes such as scholarships, and education loan scheme targeted for scheduled Tribes of Jammu and Kashmir. Scheme with Bank Assistance Or Bank Tie up scheme

The beneficiary who belong to ST community and whose poverty line is below those can apply for the Scheme with Bank Assistance Loan scheme of Jammu and Kashmir ST Development Corporation. The Permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir and who are sustaining their lives with their own resources of  Scheduled Tribes of Jammu and Kashmir those can apply for this Bank Tie up a scheme. Corporation provides various loans for the eligible candidates through banks under financing through service area approach. The J&K ST Development Corporation provides various subsidy loans up to 50% which is Rs 10,000 for a beneficiary. All the financing comes under the Special Central Assistance (SCA) for the Poor families of scheduled tribes Sub plan and the remaining balance amount of unit cost is by Bank loan.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR Scheduled Tribes BANK TIE-UP SCHEME:

  • Applicant should be Resident of Jammu and Kashmir State
  • The beneficiary should belong to Scheduled Tribes community.
  • Applicant financial status should be less than double the poverty line, i.e; The annual income of the candidate family income for rural areas should be less than Rs: 40,500/- and in urban areas Rs: 51,500 lac. Candidates those who satisfy the annual income eligibility criteria only those can get the schemes of Bank tie up a loan.
  • Applicant should not be a holder of any financial institution.
  • Candidate should not have already availed the benefit of any scheme of this corporation.
  • The candidate who is interested in bank tie-up scheme should have necessary skill/ experience in the activity.

Scheme for Scheduled Tribes in collaboration with “National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJ&E):

Scheduled Tribes of Jammu & Kashmir has collaborated with National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSTFDC), To encourage and help the people who are sustaining their individual lives under the below double of the poverty line, Jammu & Kashmir Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation has targeted those people and issued several helpful and revolutionary financial assistance welfare schemes.

Eligible Criteria:

  • Applicant should be Resident of Jammu and Kashmir State
  • The beneficiary should belong to the community of Scheduled Tribes category.
  • Applicant financial status should be less than double the poverty line, i.e; The annual income of the candidate family income for rural areas should be less than Rs: 81,000/- and in urban areas Rs: 10,0300 lac. Candidates those who satisfy the annual income eligibility criteria only those can apply for this loan.
  • Applicant should not be a holder of any financial institution.
  • Candidate should not have already availed the benefit of any scheme of this corporation.

Applicants those who are interested in avail loan for the purchase of vehicle must have a valid driving license for the type of vehicle applied for.

Educational loan Scheme for Scheduled Tribes students

The Corporation of NSTFDC provides educational loan for the poor families of Scheduled Tribes those who are from Jammu & Kashmir state. New Delhi is providing educational loans for various students of ST community by providing technical education in Jammu and Kashmir 5.00 Lacs loan is sanctioned for the SC students those who are interested to pursue a technical course in India. The rate of interest from the beneficiary is 6%. The repayment of the loan is commenced for every 6 months completion of the course or getting secured employment.

Skill Development / Training Programmes:

J&K Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation has been providing various schemes and SKill development scheme is one of the programmes under, It provides training to the focused community to encourage and support them by providing the skills to enhance their knowledge for self-employment. Under the Skill Development / Training Programmes, the corporation provides various schemes such as vocational training and skill development programme. Corporation arranges different skills with the collaboration of NSTFDC. The Jammu and Kashmir ST development Corporation bears training cost 100 percent.
